Track Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube in Google Search Console

Social profile performance flowing into Google Search Console reporting
4
supported profile platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube

Search visibility does not stop at your domain. Google can surface public social profiles and posts, but creators have historically had little first-party information about those appearances. Search Console platform properties now provide eligible users with Google performance data for Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts or channels.

💡
Key Insight
The feature is documented in Google's platform properties help page and is rolling out gradually. If you do not see an eligible profile yet, availability may not have reached the account.
01

What a platform property reports

A platform property represents one eligible social account or channel. It can show clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position from Google surfaces such as Search, Discover and News where applicable. It does not report native views, engagement or follower growth inside the social platform.

How to add an eligible profile

  1. Open the Search Console property selector.
  2. Choose Add property.
  3. Select the platform option when available.
  4. Choose the eligible Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube account.
  5. Complete the ownership or association flow shown by Google.
  6. Allow several days for reporting data to begin appearing.
03

A website is not required for the platform property

The property is associated with the social profile rather than a domain, so a creator can use it without owning a website. A website is still valuable for durable content, conversion and first-party measurement, but it is no longer the only type of property visible in Search Console.

04

Use query data to improve discoverability

Review the queries and content receiving Google impressions. Look for recurring problems, comparison language, branded demand and topics that perform differently across Search and Discover. Use those signals to improve titles, captions, spoken introductions, thumbnails and supporting website content without turning every post into a keyword exercise.

05

Connect social discovery to the wider content system

  • Turn a high-performing social question into a complete website guide.
  • Embed or reference useful videos on relevant pages.
  • Link profiles consistently from the website and organisation schema where appropriate.
  • Use tracked profile links so onward website visits can be measured.
  • Compare the result with the GSC Dashboard and Google Analytics Dashboard.
06

Important reporting limits

Platform property data covers performance on Google, not the social network itself. Privacy thresholds, reporting delays and property eligibility still apply. Each social account or channel is a separate property, and Google may show only profiles it can confidently associate with the user.

Pro Tip
Recommendation: do not combine Google impressions and native social impressions into one unlabeled total. They represent different surfaces, audiences and measurement methods.
07

A monthly creator search review

  1. Compare Google clicks and impressions by platform property.
  2. Identify the posts or videos gaining search discovery.
  3. Group the queries by audience need.
  4. Choose one content refresh and one website expansion.
  5. Track onward visits and conversions with consistent campaign parameters.
  6. Record what changed so later movement can be interpreted.
