Will the watermark be permanent?+

Yes. The watermark is merged into the exported image pixels. The original file is not modified - download the watermarked version and keep the original separately.

What opacity should I use?+

30–50% is common - visible enough to deter copying but not so intrusive it ruins the image. For copyright notices that must be clearly readable, use 70–90%.
