1. Who we are

Searchlight is an independent digital SaaS service operated in the United Kingdom.

Operator contact: meramiz@gmail.com

Website: seosearchlight.com

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Google LLC. Searchlight uses Google's public APIs under Google's API Terms of Service.

2. The service

Searchlight is a web-based SaaS platform providing eight SEO analysis tools:

  • GSC Dashboard - full keyword performance table with 11 compound filters, built on your Google Search Console data.
  • Opportunity Finder - automatically surfaces keywords where a small ranking improvement would generate a meaningful click uplift.
  • CTR Finder - identifies pages whose click-through rate is below the expected rate for their position.
  • Cannibalization Checker - detects queries where multiple pages on your site are competing with each other.
  • UTM Builder - generates clean, validated UTM-tagged URLs for campaign tracking.
  • Meta Preview - renders a pixel-accurate SERP preview of any title and meta description.
  • PageSpeed Checker - runs a full Core Web Vitals audit via the Google PageSpeed Insights API.
  • Schema Tester - validates JSON-LD structured data against supported schema types.

All eight tools are included in a single subscription at £5 per month. There are no feature tiers or usage limits within the service.

3. Eligibility and accounts

To use Searchlight you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
  • Have a valid Google account with access to at least one Google Search Console property (required for the four GSC-connected tools).
  • Have a valid PayPal account for subscription billing.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials. We have no access to your Google password. Authentication is handled entirely by Google's OAuth 2.0 system.

Each subscription is for one individual user. Sharing account access with multiple users is not permitted under these Terms.

4. Google API and Search Console data

Your data never leaves Google - we only read it in real time.

Searchlight requests read-only access to your Google Search Console data via OAuth 2.0. We do not store, copy, sell, or transfer your GSC data to any third party. All data is fetched live from Google each time you use a tool and is discarded when your browser session ends.

Specifically regarding your Google Search Console data:

  • The OAuth scope we request is webmasters.readonly - the minimum required to read GSC performance data.
  • We never request write access to your Search Console account.
  • We never access any other Google product data (Gmail, Drive, Analytics, etc.).
  • You can revoke our access at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

By connecting your Google account, you confirm that you have the right to access the Search Console properties you grant us access to, and that your use complies with Google's Terms of Service.

5. Subscription and payment

Your subscription is a monthly rolling contract. Key terms:

  • Billing is processed monthly via PayPal. By subscribing, you authorise PayPal to collect £5 each month on our behalf.
  • Your subscription begins immediately on successful payment and continues automatically each month.
  • The price is £5 per month, inclusive of any applicable taxes. VAT is not currently charged as our turnover is below the UK VAT registration threshold.
  • We reserve the right to change the price. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change takes effect. If you do not wish to accept the new price, you may cancel before it applies.
  • All payments are made in Pounds Sterling (GBP). PayPal may apply currency conversion if your account is in a different currency.

6. Your 14-day cancellation right

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of entering into it, without giving any reason.

However, by clicking “Pay with PayPal” and immediately accessing the service, you expressly request that we begin providing the digital service before the end of the 14-day cancellation period, and you acknowledge that your right to cancel will be lost once the service has been fully performed.

This is standard practice for immediately-accessed digital services under Schedule 3 of the Regulations. You may still cancel your ongoing monthly subscription at any time via PayPal to stop future billing - see Section 7 below.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your PayPal account under Payments > Manage subscriptions. On cancellation:

  • All future billing stops immediately.
  • Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
  • Partial-month refunds are not provided.

Refund exceptions: if the service is materially not as described, or if there is a billing error on our part, please contact us at meramiz@gmail.com within 30 days and we will review your case. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Searchlight to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract our source code or algorithms.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access or extract data from the service in bulk.
  • Resell, sublicence, or otherwise commercially exploit the service or its outputs without our written consent.
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code.
  • Interfere with the performance or availability of the service for other users.
  • Use the service in any way that violates Google's Terms of Service or API policies.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if we reasonably believe you are in breach of this section, without refund.

9. Intellectual property

Our intellectual property

The Searchlight platform, including its design, source code, algorithms, branding, and written content, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service during your active subscription period.

Your data

You retain full ownership of your Google Search Console data. We claim no ownership over any data you bring to the service. The outputs you generate using our tools (exported CSVs, copied text, etc.) are yours to use freely.

Feedback

If you submit feedback or feature suggestions, you grant us a royalty-free licence to use those ideas to improve the service, without obligation to you.

10. Third-party services

Searchlight integrates with and depends on third-party services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these services:

  • Google LLC - provides the OAuth authentication system, Search Console API, and PageSpeed Insights API. Your use of Google services is subject to Google's Terms of Service.
  • PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l.- processes all subscription payments. Your payment relationship is directly with PayPal. Searchlight never handles or stores your payment card details. PayPal's use of your data is governed by the PayPal Privacy Statement.
  • Vercel Inc. - hosts the Searchlight platform infrastructure.
  • Resend Inc. - delivers transactional emails (welcome emails, receipts).

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on these third-party services.

11. Disclaimers and no guarantee of results

Important: Searchlight provides SEO analysis tools and data insights. We make no guarantee, representation, or warranty that use of our tools will result in improved search engine rankings, increased organic traffic, or any specific commercial outcome. SEO results depend on many factors outside our control, including search engine algorithm changes, competitor activity, and the quality of your content and implementation.

The data shown in Searchlight tools is sourced from Google Search Console via its official API. We display this data as provided by Google and are not responsible for inaccuracies in the source data. GSC data is subject to Google's own data processing delays and sampling.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Digital content quality (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we ensure that Searchlight digital content is:

  • Of satisfactory quality - fit for the purpose for which digital content of that kind is commonly supplied.
  • Fit for purpose - fit for any specific purpose you made known to us before subscribing.
  • As described - matching the description provided on our website at the time of subscription.

If the digital content does not conform to these standards, you are entitled to a remedy. Please contact us at meramiz@gmail.com. Your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive losses arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
  • We are not liable for loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business, or loss of goodwill.
  • Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the three calendar months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any matter that cannot be excluded under English law; or (d) your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

14. Termination

By you

You may terminate your subscription at any time by cancelling via PayPal. See Section 7 for what happens to your access.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service immediately and without notice if:

  • You breach any material term of these Terms.
  • We reasonably suspect fraudulent, abusive, or illegal use of the service.
  • We are required to do so by law or a competent authority.

If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide a pro-rata refund of any unused portion of the current billing period.

Discontinuation of service

If we decide to discontinue Searchlight entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and refund any unexpired subscription period.

15. Privacy and data protection

Our collection and use of your personal data is described in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these Terms. We process your data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The only personal data we store is your email address, used for subscription access management. Your Google Search Console data is never stored on our servers. For information on cookies, see our Cookie Notice.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of Scotland or Northern Ireland respectively.

Before initiating any legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us directly at meramiz@gmail.com so we can attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 business days.

You may also refer disputes to the Ombudsman Services or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, applicable law, or our business. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The updated Terms will be posted at seosearchlight.com/terms with a revised “Last updated” date.

Continued use of the service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.
