Terms of Sale

1. Who you are contracting with

These terms govern your subscription to Searchlight, operated as an independent digital service in the United Kingdom.

By subscribing to Searchlight, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before subscribing.

2. The service

Searchlight is a web-based SaaS platform providing access to eight SEO analysis tools built on top of your Google Search Console data and publicly available SEO utilities. The tools include keyword analysis, opportunity finding, CTR analysis, cannibalisation detection, UTM building, meta tag previewing, PageSpeed analysis, and schema testing.

The service is provided on a monthly subscription basis at £5 per month.

3. Subscription and payment

Your subscription is a monthly rolling contract. Key terms:

  • Billing is processed monthly via PayPal. By subscribing, you authorise PayPal to collect £5 each month on our behalf.
  • Your subscription continues automatically each month until you cancel.
  • The price is £5 per month, inclusive of any applicable taxes. VAT is not currently charged as turnover is below the UK VAT registration threshold.
  • We reserve the right to change the price. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change takes effect.

4. Your 14-day cancellation right

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of entering into it, without giving any reason.

However, by clicking “Subscribe” and immediately accessing the service, you expressly request that we begin providing the digital service before the end of the 14-day cancellation period, and you acknowledge that your right to cancel will be lost once the service has been fully performed.

This is standard practice for immediately-accessed digital services under Schedule 3 of the Regulations. You may still cancel your ongoing monthly subscription at any time via PayPal to stop future billing — see section 5 below.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your PayPal account under Payments > Manage subscriptions. Cancellation:

  • Stops all future billing immediately.
  • Does not refund the current billing period. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Partial-month refunds are not provided.

Exception: if you have not used the service at all, cancel within 14 days of your initial subscription, and did not waive your cancellation right (see section 4), please contact us at rameez.majeed@eatechnology.com to request a full refund.

6. What is included

Your subscription provides full access to all eight SEO tools with no feature gating or usage tiers. There is one plan at one price.

Service availability: we aim for 99.9% uptime but do not provide a formal SLA (Service Level Agreement) at the £5/month price tier. We will endeavour to resolve outages promptly and communicate any planned maintenance in advance.

7. Your responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate account information during sign-up and keep it up to date.
  • You must use the service for lawful purposes only and in accordance with these terms.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of Google Search Console data via our service complies with Google's API Terms of Service.
  • You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.

8. Digital content quality

In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we ensure that Searchlight is:

  • Of satisfactory quality — fit for the purpose for which digital content of that kind is commonly supplied.
  • Fit for purpose — fit for any specific purpose you made known to us before subscribing.
  • As described — matching the description provided on our website.

If the digital content does not conform to these standards, you are entitled to a remedy. Please contact us at rameez.majeed@eatechnology.com.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from your use of the service.
  • Our maximum liability to you is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
  • We do not guarantee any specific SEO outcomes, ranking improvements, or commercial results from using the service.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under English law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
