What is my public IP address?+
Your public IP is the address assigned to your router by your ISP. It's visible to every server you connect to on the internet, and can change when you restart your router (if your ISP assigns dynamic IPs).
Why is my IP location wrong?+
IP geolocation is approximate. Your ISP may register IP blocks at a different location, especially if you're on mobile data or connected through a corporate network.
How do I hide my IP address?+
Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to route your traffic through a server in another location. The destination server sees the VPN server's IP instead of yours.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?+
IPv4 addresses are 32-bit numbers written as four groups of digits (e.g. 192.168.1.1). IPv6 addresses are 128-bit, written in hexadecimal (e.g. 2001:db8::1). IPv6 was created because IPv4 addresses are running out.
