DNS Checker

Look up DNS records via Cloudflare's DNS over HTTPS.

About this tool

Check DNS records for any domain in real time using Cloudflare's DNS over HTTPS (DoH) API. Look up A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, SRV, and CAA records to diagnose propagation issues, verify SPF and DKIM settings, debug nameserver configuration, and confirm that DNS changes have propagated globally.

How to Check DNS Records Online

  1. 1Enter the domain name you want to look up (e.g. example.com).
  2. 2Select the DNS record type from the dropdown - choose 'ALL' to see everything at once.
  3. 3Click 'Look Up' to query Cloudflare's DNS over HTTPS resolver.
  4. 4Review the results - each record shows its type, TTL, and value.
  5. 5If a record isn't showing, try a different record type or wait for propagation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do my DNS changes not show up yet?+
DNS changes propagate across the internet gradually due to caching (TTL). Most changes are visible within a few minutes to an hour, but some ISPs cache records for up to 24โ€“48 hours based on the previous TTL value.
What is a TXT record used for?+
TXT records are used for email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), domain ownership verification (Google Search Console, AWS), and ACME challenges for Let's Encrypt certificates.
What is the difference between an A record and a CNAME?+
An A record maps a hostname directly to an IPv4 address. A CNAME maps a hostname to another hostname (an alias). The root domain (@) cannot have a CNAME - only subdomains can.
How do I verify my SPF record?+
Query the TXT records for your domain. Your SPF record starts with v=spf1 and lists authorised sending servers. Use an SPF validator to check if it's correctly configured.
