IP Lookup

Geolocation and network info for any IP address.

About this tool

Look up the geolocation, ISP, ASN, and timezone for any IPv4 or IPv6 address using the ip-api.com service. Useful for diagnosing traffic sources, identifying suspicious IP addresses, troubleshooting VPN routing, and understanding where your users are connecting from without setting up analytics.

How to Look Up an IP Address

  1. 1Enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address in the input field.
  2. 2Click 'Look Up' to query the geolocation database.
  3. 3Review the country, region, city, ISP, ASN, and timezone.
  4. 4Use the map link to see the approximate location visually.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is IP geolocation?+
Country-level accuracy is typically 95โ€“99%. City-level accuracy varies widely - often within 25โ€“50 miles for most IPs, but can be completely wrong for mobile users, VPN users, or satellite internet users.
Can I look up my own IP address?+
Yes - leave the field blank or use the 'What's My IP' tool. Your current IP and location will be shown automatically.
What is an ASN?+
An Autonomous System Number (ASN) identifies a network under a single routing policy - typically an ISP, hosting provider, or large organisation like Google or Amazon.
Why does the location show a different city?+
IP geolocation databases map IPs based on registration data, not GPS. ISPs often register IP blocks at their headquarters, making the location appear as the ISP's city rather than the actual user's city.
